Coleman

Type: Gallery Image | Not Vetted

Coleman 1 innocent

Coleman: Innocent: I attempted to take a photo without thinking about the background or where it was located. This to me was the closet that I would get to takinga photograph with an innocent eye. But I don’t think I succeeded. Even though, I claim to have taken the photo with an innocent eye, I still was conscious of the placement of objects and angles in which the photo was
taken. Therefore, I failed.

Constructed:  The second photo was definitely more of a deliberate choice. I was at an antique shop and my friend who was in the background of the image was browsing as I framed the vase to be the center focal point. I was attempting to highlight the clutter around the vase. I thought that the images surrounding it told their own story in a way.

Argument: The third image is more centered. It showcases more of the top shelf which was the original target of the first image. Changes made to the recreation of the first photo was to actually change the angle that the photo was taken. These small
changes changed the focus of the original image and allows the viewer to look at details that were left out. This makes the argument of whether an image can purposely be telling a true story or leaving things out of context.
