Florence and the Machine

Type: Gallery Image | Not Vetted

Florence and the Machine is a band that has long been obsessed with the macabre, death, and darkness. Really, any of her songs could reflect the modern Gothic, but a specific example would be from her song "Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)-"

"This is a gift, it comes with a price/Who is the lamb and who is the knife?"

Her work is also imbued with many references to mythological and historical figures, such as Midas and Elvis.
