Land and Landscape

Type: Gallery Image | Not Vetted

After reading Andrews, Landscape and Western Art, chap. 1, along with the study guide, please add your study guide assignment to this Gallery.
Using a phone camera, (1) attempt to photograph a tract of land “innocently.” Then (2) photograph the tract again by framing it; and (3) photograph it a third time, inserting an element of “argument” – whatever that means to you.

As an example, I attempted to make my landscape view (questionably) innocent by holding my phone to my dog Maxie's nose and shooting what she was seeing (1). Then I framed the scene by positioning the dogs in front of the witch hazel caught in Maxie's initial view (2). Finally, my argument was that the dogs had unwittingly drawn my attention to the enormous weed I'd allowed to grow inside the witch hazel.
