The place Little Europe Backlot of Universal Studios is significant to the adaptation Frankenstein because many of the village exterior scenes in the film were filmed at this location. On the map, the location is no longer there but the marker is in a position where this set used to be. One notable scene was when the townspeople gathered together for Henry and Elizabeth's wedding. I found this information from a website called The Studio Tour which is published by Universal Studios and it lists all of the scenes that were filmed at specific locations within Universal Studios. This participatory culture move is low barriers to entry because Universal Studios is the only company that can upload information to this website. They make the information accessible to fans and allows people outside of the studio to document and share history about the movie. Mapping Little Europe Backlot on COVE adds a grass root layer to a story usually told through the film. This helps future students see how the physical setting of the film contributed to the adaptation of Frankenstein.
