"Oscar Wilde at Bow Street"

Full Title: "Oscar Wilde at Bow Street" from the Illustrated Police News

Published: 20 April 1895, London

The Illustrated Police News was a weekly tabloid newspaper that depicted real-life crime stories. It was published between 1864 and 1938. On the cover of this issue, Oscar Wilde is depicted arriving on Bow Street in his carriage as he is "hooted by the mob." The other drawings on the page also show Wilde as "ill in prison" and "in the dock."
