Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 was signed into law on June 23, 1972. Title IX prohibits discrimination based on sex in educational institutions that receive federal funding. This law was authored and sponsored by Representative Patsy Mink, Representative Edith Green, and Senator Birch Bayh.
