In 1952 the second novel of trilogy,"The half-viscount", was published; where storytelling aims towards the fantastic. In this case we have the story of a man who during a duel is crossed by a sword stroke, from which he is divided in half: into a good and a bad part. It is therefore two opposite halves who take on an independent life, have parallel experiences, but who fall in love with the same woman. At the end of the story they are put back together by a doctor who makes the figure of the viscount unique.
