Historal Context- Wilfred Owen was a served in the first World War in the British army in the Manchester Regiment. He died at age 25 just a few days prior to end of the first World War on November 4th 1918.

Influence on Literary Work- Owen spent his last few year alive in a living hell as a frontline soilder. He was surrounded everyday with the fear of death for him and his fellow soilders. This fear and trauma had an heavy infulance on the literary works including “Dule Et Decrum Est” and "Athem of the Doomed Youth"
