Anne's career as governess and her aunt's death.
Anne began as governess (private teacher) to the children of Joshua Ingraham in April 1839 and remained until December 1839. In 1840, Anne began as governess to the children of the Reverend Edmund Robinson. In Fall 1842, her aunt Elizabeth Branwell died and Anne traveled home for the funeral. Anne completed her time as governess in 1845, at which point she has drafted much of her upcoming novelĀ Agnes Grey.
