While 1961, brought about a new revolution for women and sexual intercourse with the approval and distrubition of 'The Pill' most do not no that it was only prescribed and distributed by the National Health Service to married women. This would've excluded Gemma Hardy and many single women in the British Isles. It would take another six years before the single women of Great Britian could be given the birth control pill.
