Corinne translation

Publication in 1833 of an influential translation of Germaine de Staël’s Corinne, or Italy, with the first metrical verse translation of the poetry. This is an important publication of Corinne: Isabel Hill translated the prose, and Letitia Elizabeth Landon (who identified herself with the fictional heroine) provided the first metrical translation of Corinne’s poetry.
