Corrupt Practices Act

British Coat of ArmsOn 15 October 1883, the Corrupt Practices Act of 1883 was passed, or, to be more precise, the Corrupt and Illegal Practices Prevention Act. The bill increased the penalties of the 1854 Corrupt Practices Act, and determined spending limits for candidates of parliamentary elections.
