Although she was a successful author and writer on her own, Craik eventually did fall in love and married George Lillie Craik in 1865. They married in Bath on April 29th. Connections can be made to the strength of Miss Pryor of The Half-Caste (1851) as she was autonomous and making her own decisions without a husband. While some amy be disappointed that she didn't live her life fully single, I would argue that she found love on her own terms.
