First President of the United States

The election of the first United States president, George Washington, and the America's rebellion against the British Monarchy, raised fears among English nobility and upper class that the lower class would revolt and attempt to end the Monarchy. This presidential election, along with the American and French Revolutions, was a reminder of the vulnerability of the English government.
