Kew Gardens is Added on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO
In July of 2003, UNESCO added Kew Gardens onto the list of World Heritage Sites. The UNESCO World Heritage Convention defines World Heritage Sites as ‘places of Outstanding Universal Value to the whole of humanity’. UNESCO acknowledged the value of the gardens unique history, diverse historic landscape, rich architectural legacy, botanic collections, and position as one of the world’s leading botanic gardens for scientific research and education.
