Laurence Housman publishes The Story of The Seven Young Goslings
In 1898 Laurence Housman made his own contribution to lupine literature with a light-hearted versification of the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale about the trickster wolf and the seven goslings: “The wolf was a wicked, black-hearted bamboozler, /As ugly as sin and as old as Methuselah.” The book was beautifully illustrated by his friend Mabel Dearmer and published by Blackie & Son.
