The Napoleonic Wars

Napoleon became the dictator through the military of France in 1799. In 1803, he began the Napoleonic Wars with Great Britain and France.  Great Britain entered war with France in May 1803, because of Napoleon's quest for power throughout Europe, particularly his conquering of Swizterland. Britian began stregthening its navy and became the strongest naval force in the world after capturing other naval fleets and starving France of its resources and economy by sea.
