Sojourner Explores Mars
On July 4, 1997, Sojourner became the first successful Mars Pathfinder. The rover was autonomous and had front and rear cameras. The robot’s communication lasted until September 27, 1977. The rover was able to transmit approximately 550 images and more than 15 chemical analyses of rocks and soil throughout its lifespan. Image is a picture of the Sojourner.
