The novel "Interview By A Vampire" written by Anne Rice back in 1976. The novel sets in the perspective of the oldest known vampire named Louis de Pointe du Lac that settles in New Orleans and is in a relationship with an evil French man who is a well established and experienced vampire. This novel series given that the only well known novels about vampires were Salem's Lot and Dracula. It also became a movie that was released in 1994 starring Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunst and Tom Cruise and then a series of two seasons back in 2022 starring Sam Reid, Jacob Anderson and Bailey Bass. But this forum post is about a side character named Claudia, who is in the novel a five year old that gets bitten and becomes an immortal vampire despite her age being so young. Both the series and novel changed this and made her thirteen years old that struggles to be adult stuck in a child's body. There are themes of gothic such as the nature of evil, desire that can become obsessive, historical setting within the 18th century Europe and New Orleans, power dynamics, and how Claudia's trapped body is a symbol of her struggle that eternal life is a terrifying issue without the ability of maturing.
