President Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt was president during the Great Depression. He was the twenty-sixth president of the United States. He became the president very quickly and suddenly due to William McKinley Young. The Square Deal was created by Roosevelt and was incorporated in the Bull Moose Party. Roosevelt helped Americans gain the faith in themselves after dealing with the Great Depression. His most famous quote is "There is nothing to fear but fear itself." Roosevelt also created The New Deal which helped people with new federal agencies. He also created the social security unit, unemployment insurance and more agencies and programs made to help Americans. He was also the president during World War II. Pearl Harbor, Hawaii inflicted causalities and damage. He also helped in creating the atomic bomb. He wanted to meet with Anglo-Americans to figure out how to use the atomic bomb while in wars. I chose his "Man in The Arena" speech. "It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done them better." (Roosevelt) What he is saying is that it is not about the critic, how the man stumbles or who does the deeds the best. It is about the person themself. "The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood." (Roosevelt) Roosevelt is saying that this is what is important, this is what matters. It does not matter who is the best, it is about how he is willing to put in the work. In conclusion, President Roosevelt dealt with much while he was in office. He was great at noticing cues and helping those who did need help.
