The United States Magazine and Democratic Review, was a highly respected journal that feautured political essays, and it was primarily a literary magazine that promoted thr development of American literature. EBB's "A Drama of Exile" was originally issued in two differernt installments in the July and August 1844 issues of this magazine.
The Brownings in Our World: An Online Exhibition Dashboard
Description
In fall of 2020, students in a senior seminar at Baylor University on Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning created "The Brownings in Our World," an online exhibition of related rare items, primarily from Baylor's Armstrong Browning Library. "The Brownings in Our World" is housed on separate website, but is linked to the timeline and map below, which allow viewers to explore places and events related to the exhibits.

Individual Entries
Florence, Italy is where the Brownings lived after their forbidden marriage in 1846. It is here that Elizabeth Bennett Browning wrote her poem, "The Runaway Slave at Pilgrim's Point."
RB had many societies dedicated to him and his works, like book clubs or fan clubs in a way. One of these was the Chicago Browning Society, which provided RB with handwritten notes and testimonies as a gift.
This is somewhere that Elizabeth lived while she was experiencing some of the strongest emotions of her life. For one thing, this is where she was living when her brother drowned, which ended up causing her much grief. This is also where she lived while she was dealing with this grief at the same time that she was being courted by Robert.
Robert and Elizabeth Browning visited the Palace Lanfranchi in October of 1846.
