COVE

Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Christiana Rossetti's brother,  illustrated what he thought the goblins looked like and the two sisters. The poem describes each goblin to be different from the other. Each goblin had a distinct taunt, and look. Notice that the goblins are not fully humans, they contain animal features. One shaped like an owl, one a dog, one a cat, and so on. They were described like some hungry men, they constantly taunted the two sisters until one finally gave in. This is common in the world today, men use this strategy. Women fall victim to men in some ways, but most stand strong. Men in the real world, as well as in the poem can be manipulative, violent, and aggressive.
