The Golden Road, Wales

The Golden Road is a trail about 7.4 miles long located in Wales. The trail features pieces of history dating back to the Broze Age and Neolithic Period. Stones along the trail mark burials from 5,000 years ago. Many believe the large stones along the trail were taken from Stonehedge 4,000 years ago. The purpose of the road is still debated today, but it is believed to have been used as a trade highway or just a road people took to avoid the dense forests below.

"Defining Wales is rather like defining poetry. For every rule someone comes up with there will be an exception which breaks it. Ultimately poems become what they are because the poet says so. Wales is like this. The bit you think of as real probably is...The cairn at the far end of Golden Road."
