Loch Lomond (Inversnaid)

Located in Scotland, Loch Lomond is about fourteen miles from Glasgow, and it is the largest lake in all of Great Britain. The loch was originally named after the Dukes of Lennox (giving it the name "Loch Lennox"), and its current name most likely originates from Gaelic. The loch is known for its history of whiskey smuggling, with the most popular use being transporting Highland whiskey into the city of Glasgow. Loch Lomond is mentioned in "Inversnaid" by Gerard Manley Hopkins, as Inversnaid is located on Loch Lomond's east bank:

"What would the world be, once bereft
Of wet and of wildness? Let them be left,
O let them be left, wildness and wet;    [15]
Long live the weeds and the wilderness yet."
