Scandinavia is a Northern European region, typically referring to the present-day countries of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. (Nordic countries also include Finland and Iceland. When the term refers to the Scandinavian Peninsula or the broader region, these countries are also included.) They have similar dialects and are relatively North Germanic in origin, as the majority of the population originated from North Germanic tribes.
