The Abandonment of Roman London
Roman London was abandoned between 407 and 410 AD, when Roman General Constantine III declared himself to be the new Roman Emporer. He then took all of his troops out of Britain and crossed the English channel to become the new Emporer. He became the co-Emporer, but was captued and executed in 411 AD. The people of Roman London coninued to live there Roman lifestyle for many years, but without taxation, protection, or any support from Rome. The outside marauders began to settle in Britain around 457 AD and Roman London was all but destroyed.
