Assembly Rooms & Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (Philadelphia, 1848)

5th public exhibition of the Greek Slave: May 1848

The statue spent only a brief period in Philadelphia, split between the Assmbly Rooms and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Within weeks, it was confiscated by the agent of James Robb, who had laid claim to the statue following a disagreement with Powers over payment and ownership of the precise model of the Greek Slave now traveling around the Northeastern United States.
