The Andes

The Andes mountain range runs along South America’s western side and is the world’s longest continental mountain range. It encompasses glaciers, volcanoes, grassland, desert, lakes and forest. The Andes extends from north to south through Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina. The famous Incan citadel, Machu Picchu is located in the Andes.
