Bahia is located in northeastern Brazil and is one of the country’s 26 states. It is the fourth most populated Brazilian state. Named for its Bay of All Saints, Bahia is located along the Atlantic coast, and its largest city is Salvador. Charles Darwin visited Bahia in 1832.
From October 1831 to October 1836, Charles Darwin circumnavigated the world as ship’s naturalist on board the H.M.S.
