Balmoral Castle is a mansion located in Aberdeenshire in eastern Scotland. It is one of the official residences of the British royal family. The estate was purchased by Prince Albert in 1852, who commissioned architect William Smith to design the current Balmoral Castle in the Scottish baronial style, completed in 1856.
