The Berkeley, Piccadilly

The Berkeley is a hotel at the corner of Berkeley St. and Piccadilly in Mayfair, in the City of Westminster, London, England. It had been a coffee house since the eighteenth century, and it was upgraded into a fashionable hotel and restaurant in 1897. In the 1920s, it was one of the first London hotels to introduce air conditioning. In 1972, the hotel was moved to Wilton Place in Knightsbridge, in a new building which incorporated historic features from the original structure. It is now a five-star hotel and, as of 2019, the site of the restaurant La Tante Claire by Pierre Koffman.
