Botswana
Botswana is a landlocked country in southern Africa that became independent from the British Commonwealth in 1966. 70% of the land is in the Kalahari Desert, and its capital is Gaborone. Both Germany and Great Britain sought colonial control over Botswana, with the British taking control. Botswana is contending with the environmental issues of drought and desertification.
