Established in 1827, the Bruce Castle School, located in Bruce Castle, Tottenham, was a progressive school for boys. It closed in 1891. It was an extension of Rowland Hill’s Hazlewood School following the models from Joseph Priestly and Thomas Paine. Charles Babbage’s sons attended Bruce Castle School.
