Bulaq is a district of Cairo, Egypt. In the fourteenth century, Bulaq was the main port of Cairo. Today, it is a dense indigenous district, and the local industry includes workshops such as printing presses, metalworking, and machine shops. Many of the city’s newer industrial plants are located to the north of the district.
