Chernyakhovsk, known as Insterburg prior to 1946, is a town in the Chernyakhovsky District in Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia. It became part of the Kingdom of Prussia in 1701, and of the German Empire in 1871. It was transferred to the Soviet Union after the end of the Second World War.
