Cincinnati is a city located at the confluence of the Licking and Ohio rivers in the state of Ohio in the eastern United States. The city was originally founded in 1788. During the early nineteenth century, the settlement developed commercial links using the Ohio river and the Miami and Erie Canal. The construction of a rail link to the city began in the 1830s.
