Dresden

Dresden is the capital city of the state of Saxony in eastern Germany. It is located on the river Elbe. From the Early Modern period, it became a center of cultural development as architects, artists, and musicians were drawn to the city. It is home to an eighteenth-century church that was destroyed during the severe bombing of the city in the Second World War and has been rebuilt in the twentieth century.
