Gallia (Smith, "Beachy Head")

Gallia is the Latin word for Gaul, a region in Europe, composed of what are now France, parts of Belgium, parts of Germany, and northern Italy Britannica). Gaul was an agricultural society. In the 4th century B.C.E., Gauls seized the city of Rome, which drove Rome to conquer Gaul. By the 1st and 2nd century B.C.E., Rome had conquered parts of Gaul. By the 6th century, Rome had lost control of Gaul. But, much of the Roman architecture, such as amphitheaters, constructed in Gaul is still standing.
