Hamilton

Hamilton is a city in Ohio, just north of Cincinnati. It was founded as Fort Hamilton in 1791 (named for Alexander Hamilton, the Secretary of the Treasury) and the town later developed for agriculture and trading. Abraham Lincoln gave a speech here in 1859. By the mid nineteenth century, the town’s economy was primarily supported by manufacturing. In the 1920s, Hamilton gained a reputation as “Little Chicago” for the number of gangsters who had second homes here.
