Holland House
Holland House was a house in Kensington, south London, located in what is now the Holland Park area. It was built in 1605 for the diplomat Sir Walter Cope and was originally known as Cope Castle. Under the ownership of the Fox family, who held the title of Baron Holland, in the nineteenth century, it became a famous meeting place for Whig politicians. The house was largely destroyed by German bombing in the Blitz of 1940.
