The Isle of Portland is a limestone tied island in the English Channel, forming the southernmost point of the county of Dorset, Southwest England. Chesil Beach, a barrier beach, joins it to the mainland. The island is famous for Portland stone, which is used in St. Paul’s Cathedral.
