One of the oldest cities in the world, Jerusalem is an important site for the three major Abrahamic religions—Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. It is located in the Middle East between the Mediterranean and the Dead Sea. Both Israel and the Palestinian Authority claim Jerusalem as their capital.
