Kentucky is a state located in the east-south-central region of the United States. It was the fifteenth state to join the Union. Its capital is Frankfort, and its two largest cities are Louisville and Lexington. Kentucky is home to Mammoth Cave National Park, and the historic horseracing event the Kentucky Derby occurs at Churchill Downs each May.
