Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (美少女戦士セーラームーン), or better known in the west, Sailor Moon is a Japanese Manga series written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi in 1991. The original anime run of Sailor Moon was premiered in Japan on March 7, 1992 in Japan and serves as the place of origin for the internation pop culture icon Sailor Moon and her and the anime's impact on Fashion, aesthetics, and perceptions of magical girl genre and girl's fantasy romance. This series was leading the way for normalizing LGBTQA+ content in the '90s despite being heavily censored overseas, the theme of love, friendship, and women empowerment is seen and heard even today.
