Manchester School of Art

The Manchester School of Art is the second oldest art school in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1838 and originally called the Manchester School of Design. Women were admitted in 1880. From the early 1880s, it was housed in premises designed by George Tunstal Redmayne. It is now part of the Manchester Metropolitan University.
