Medway

Medway is a conurbation and unitary authority in the county of Kent, South East England. Its main towns are Strood, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham, and Rainham. The Chatham dockyards, which opened in 1567 and closed in 1984, resided in Medway. Admiral Lord Nelson’s HMS Victory was assembled here, among many others. Related BRANCH article: Carolyn W. de la L.
