Llanelli is where different parts of Wales meet. Industrial meets rural, east meets west, and land meets the ocean. In the 19th century, the town had a very heavy tin industry, which has since declined.

Millenium Coastal Park overlooks the Welsh beaches. It is a site for leisure and commerce. Notably, the pedestrian Millenium Coastal Path runs through this park.
