New England

New England is a northeastern region of the United States comprising the states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. The Pilgrims who sailed from England landed in this region and formed Plymouth Colony. Leaders from the area helped rebel against English rule to establish independence for the American colonies. The region was important during the American Industrial Revolution, especially for its textile manufacturing.
