Newport

Newport is a city in Kentucky located at the confluence of the Ohio and Kentucky Rivers. It is part of the Cincinnati Metropolitan Area. It was first settled in 1791 and named for Christopher Newport, who was the captain of the first ship to arrive in Jamestown, Virginia in 1607. During prohibition, Newport was known for its many speakeasies, and gambling used to be quite common in the city.
