Northamptonshire

Northamptonshire is a county in the East Midlands region of England and is approximately 900 sq. miles. Rockingham Castle, located here, was built by William the Conqueror, and Mary, Queen of Scots was imprisoned in Fotheringhay Castle. During the Industrial Revolution, the area was renowned for its shoemaking and leather industry. Jane Austen’s Mansfield Park is set in Northamptonshire, as is the 2005 musical Kinky Boots.
